Summary
There are two kinds of plate heat exchangers in refrigeration: sealed and fully welded. The latter is for large-scale use in freezing temperatures. The author lists the advantages of the sealed plate heat exchanger and the advantages of plate heat exchangers in general over shell-and-tube heat exchangers. He gives tips for connecting plate heat exchangers to the refrigerating machine.
