Summary
THE AUTHORS STUDY THE UTILIZATION OF A PLATE EXCHANGER AS EVAPORATOR OF A HEAT PUMP WHOSE COLD RESERVOIR IS FREE, IE, ENVIRONMENTAL AIR OR WATER. IT IS SHOWN THAT THE PLATE EVAPORATOR HAS MORE ADVANTAGES THAN FINNED-TUBE EVAPORATORS OR VERTICAL-TUBE EVAPORATORS WITHOUT FINS. THE AUTHORS ANALYSE THE OPERATION OF THIS PLATE EXCHANGER FOR DIFFERENT VALUES OF THE COLD RESERVOIR. THE CALCULATION METHOD IS ALSO PRESENTED.
