Number: pap. ID17

Author(s) : ZHIHUA H., MIKHAILOV A.

Summary

Typical refrigeration control system in China cold storage is described. Analysis of energy consumption of cold stores in China and Europe indicates that there is a good potential for energy efficiency improvement in Chinese cold stores in general. Causes for low energy efficiency of typical refrigeration systems in China cold storage have been analysed with focus on control of a refrigeration system. An overall evaluation of state of the art refrigeration system in comparison to common practice in China today has been performed. Some opportunities for enhancing automatic control systems to improve energy efficiency, such as defrost, temperature control and liquid level control have been introduced. Further, a simulation compared between typical manual system in China and improved automatic control has been performed. Finally, several case studies have been considered to illustrate the feasibility to apply automatic solutions in China.
