Summary

Power consumption in data centers is increasing sharply with the rapid growth of information and communication technology services. To reduce the power consumption, it is necessary to conserve power of both servers and infrastructure such as computer room air conditioning. To achieve this, the authors have been developing a data center energy management system that controls the workload of servers and air-conditioning equipment. This paper describes the control of air-conditioning units and proposed a method to estimate the inlet temperature of servers using multiple regression analysis. A prototype of the air-conditioning control system using this estimation method was made and the experimental results show the effectiveness of this prototype.
