A DILUTION REFRIGERATOR WITH A HELIUM 3 CIRCULATION RATE 80-730 MICROMOLS PER SECOND AND A MINIMUM TEMPERATURE OF 2.85 MILLIK WHICH IS CONTINUOUSLY MAINTAINED HAS BEEN BUILT. DISCRETE HEAT EXCHANGERS WITH PRESSED METAL (COPPER AND SILVER) POWDER ARE USED. THE HEAT EXCHANGERS ARE NEWLY DEVELOPED, BASED ON THE ANALYSIS OF RADEBAUGH AND SIEGWARTH. THE DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION AND PERFORMANCE OF THIS REFRIGERATOR ARE DESCRIBED.
