Practical experiences in Europe of the combination of geothermal energy and heat pumps.
Author(s) : SANNER B., HOPKIRK R. J., KABUS F., RITTER W., RYBACH L.
Summary
The article first reviews the bases of geothermal heat recovery, either through captured underground water, or by very deep drill-holes. Heat pumps are necessary only when sufficiently high temperatures cannot be obtained in reasonable heat-recovery conditions. Several examples are given from Germany, Switzerland, Austria and elsewhere.
