THE PURPOSE OF THIS STUDY WAS TO DETERMINETHE PRECISION OF AN INSTRUMENT THAT MEASURES THERMAL TRANSMISSION THROUGH A WINDOW BY DETERMINING ITS PRECISION UNDER SPECIFIED TEST CONDITIONS AND DIFFERENT TEMPERATURES. ANALYSIS OF VARIANCE AND PRIORITY CONTRASTS WAS USED TO DETERMINETHE EFFECT OF WINDOW TREATMENT AND TEMPERATURE. PRECISION WAS BETTER AT THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE OF 333 K (60 DEG C), THOUGH NO DIFFERENCES RESULTED WHEN GROUPS OF WINDOW TREATMENTS (ROLLER SHADES OR DRAPERIES) OR VARIOUS TYPES OF ROLLER SHADES WERE TESTED.
