PREDICTING THE PERFORMANCE OF MOLECULAR SIEVE ROTARY DESICCANT COOLING SYSTEMS.

Author(s) : RUSH W. F., WURM J.

Summary

THE METHOD DEVELOPED BY BANKS AND ASSOCIATES FOR PREDICTING THE BEHAVIOUR OF SILICA GEL ROTARY DESICCANT MATRICES WAS EXTENDED TO APPLY TO ROTARY MATRICES CONTAINING MOLECULAR SIEVES. THE RESULTS ARE PRESENTED IN THE FORM OF DESIGN CHARTS THAT DESCRIBE THE BEHAVIOUR OF THE DRYING LINES AND THE REGENERATIVE LINES. THESE CHARTS CAN BE USED TO CALCULATE THE DEGREE OF DRYING THAT CAN BE EXPECTED FROM A ROTARY MOLECULAR SIEVE WHEEL MATRIX AS A FUNCTION OF THE AMBIENT CONDITIONS, ROOM CONDITIONS, MODE OF OPERATION (RECIRCULATION OR VENTILATION) AND THE ENERGY INPUT.
