Summary

THE AUTHOR WITH OTHERS PREVIOUSLY APPLIED THE COMPLEX VARIABLE BOUNDARY ELEMENT METHOD TO THE PREDICTION OF FREEZING FRONTS. HE GOES ON TO USE THE METHOD FURTHER, ILLUSTRATING THE FACT THAT MODELING ERROR EVALUATION TECHNIQUESHAVE BEEN DEVELOPED WHICH ENABLE THE RELATIVE ERROR DISTRIBUTION ON THE PROBLEM BOUNDARY TO BE EVALUATED EXACTLY. APPLICATIONS ARE ILLUSTRATED OF A ROADWAY EMBANKMENT AND A GEOTHERMAL PROBLEM SURROUNDING A PIPELINE, BOTH IN ALASKA. THE MODEL IS ADAPTABLE FOR MANY MICROCOMPUTERS USING FORTRAN . D.W.H.
