Summary
SINCE LOW AMBIENT TEMPERATURES PRESENT PROBLEMS WITH CONVENTIO NAL AIR-SOURCE HEAT PUMP AIR CONDITIONERS, A JOINT INDUSTRIAL VENTURE IN JAPAN HAS DEVELOPED A HEATER-LESS AIR CONDITIONER, WHICH CAN OPERATE AT A TEMPERATURE DOWN TO 266 K (-7 DEG C). THE MAJOR TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPED FOR THIS NEW TYPE AIR CONDITIONER IS: HIGH EFFICIENCY COMPRESSORS FOR INVERTERS, NEW FROST DETECTION SYSTEM, NOVEL DEFROSTING METHOD AND IMPROVED HEAT EXCHANGERS.
