THE BASIC TECHNIQUES OF THE STORAGE OF FRUIT (MAINLY APPLE) IN COLD STORES IN THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF GERMANY ARE DISCUSSED. SOLUTIONS ARE GIVEN FOR PLANNING AND BUILDING COLD STORES. THE METHODS FOR PROVIDING OPTIMAL GAS CONDITIONS IN THE ROOMS ARE DISCUSSED.
