Summary

VARIOUS TYPES OF TUBE BUNDLES HAVE BEEN EXAMINED IN ORDER TO OBTAIN THE CHARACTERISTICSOF PRESSURE DROP AND HEAT TRANSFER. WITH THE EXPERIMENTS, THE PRESSURE DROP IN THE SHELL-SIDE DEPENDED UPON THE REYNOLDS NUMBER AND IT DEVIATED BY ABOUT 30% FROM THE TUBE-SIDE PRESSURE DROP. THE SHELL-SIDE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT ALSODEPENDS UPON THE REYNOLDS NUMBER AND IT IS ABOUT 35% GREATER THAN THE TUBE-SIDE COEFFICIENT.
