Summary

Under certain critical circumstances, inside (wet) cooling towers, evaporative condensers and air-humidity systems with water, the bacteria Legionella arises. To prevent breakout and contamination prevention, measures should be taken. The Arbo Directive 4.87-1 contains such instructions. Appointing and implementation of prevention by branches involved and the translation of care obligation to adequately operational measurements will reduce the breakout of Legionella. The Directive 55.3, under development by ISSO, is for these purposes a practical and useful document.
