Summary

THE AUTHOR DESCRIBES AN INCINERATION PLANT FOR SOLID WASTES IN SWEDEN, WHICH WAS ORDERED BY THE AUTHORITIES TO INSTALL WITH A NEW AND MUCH MORE EFFICIENT FLUE GAS CLEANING SYSTEM, WHICH IS NOW IN OPERATION. THE AIM IS TO REDUCE SUBSTANTIALLY THE EMISSION OF HYDROGEN CHLORIDE AND HYDROGEN FLUORIDE, DIOXINES, MERCURY AND OTHER HEAVY METALS, AND AT THE SAME TIME RECOVER MORE HEAT FROM THE FLUE GASES.
