IN THE LAST FEW YEARS THE IMPROVED KNOWLEDGE OF THE PERTINENT EQUILIBRIUM DATA HAS LED TO AN EVER-INCREASING EXACTITUDE IN THE PROCESS DESIGN WHICH, TOGETHER WITH THE CONSTANT PROCESS OPTIMATION TAKING PLACE, HAS MADE POSSIBLE A SIGNIFICANT REDUCTION OF THE OPERATING COSTS. THE SEARCH FOR SIMULTANEOUS SIMPLIFICATION OF PROCESS UNITS WAS, AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE, OF UNCHANGED IMPORTANCE.
