THE COMPOSITION OF A NEW PRODUCT SIMULATING FOODSTUFFS IS DESCRIBED ; THIS PRODUCT IS USED FOR TESTING DOMESTIC REFRIGERATORS AND FREEZERS AND REPLACES OXYETHYLMETHYL CELLULOSE WHICH IS TRADITIONALLY USED BUT WHICH DETERIORATES WITH TIME. THE AUTHORS COMPARE EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS FROM THE MEASUREMENT OF ELECTRICITY CONSUMPTION AND TEMPERATURE RISE AFTER SHUTTING DOWN THE APPLIANCE ; THESE RESULTS WERE OBTAINED WITH 3 CATEGORIES OF PRODUCT: OXYETHYLMETHYL CELLULOSE WHICH IS TRADITIONALLY USED TODAY, THE PROPOSED SUBSTITUTE AND FROZEN FOOD.
