Public works and ground freezing.
Travaux publics : congélation du sol.
Author(s) : TRANCART M.
Type of article: Article
Summary
Certain types of ground can be consolidated using injection but can not be maintained in a stable state using compressed air. In these exceptional cases, the ground is frozen. This is a delicate process and is at present used to stabilize the ring road around Lyon. This technique has already been used elsewhere in France and in other countries.
