Autologous serum eye drops are used to treat severe dry eyes generally due to Sjogren's syndrome. It is a sterile extemporaneous
preparation with inherent risk that must be prepared within an establishment equipped with a ClassA controlled atmosphere area. The dispatching of these eye drops from one healthcare facility to another must be secured in order to guarantee the quality of the care administered to the patient A team at the central pharmacy at Caen CHRU Hospital in the Calvados area of France performed a prospective study on temperature monitoring and compliance with the cold chain during various transport phases.
