Summary

The use of air cycle refrigerating machines with turbodetenders for quick freezing allows to obtain low air temperatures in a large range of velocities. A tunnel quick-freezing apparatus with a flow-through system of low-temperature air supply from turbo-refrigerating unit is described. The design of the air distribution device ensures uniform blowing around the product in horizontal plane across the movement of the conveyor during the whole time of freezing. As a result the freezing time is reduced and the operational costs are decreased.
