Rationalized selection of cross fin evaporator for a no-frost refrigerator: a case study.

Author(s) : SALHAB R., MANGO O.

Summary

Copper tube evaporators are very common in refrigeration applications. Based on heat transfer considerations it was thought that an evaporator in use in a particular refrigerator was larger than the duty necessitated. In order to rationalize this component, a sample made of aluminium (lower cost) was selected for investigation. To adopt the evaporator sample, some modifications are required to optimize the cooling and to have proper installation.
