Summary
Reciprocating and rotary compressors are used efficiently in stationary refrigerating plants, in transport, in air conditioners and heat pumps. Results are given of calorific, vibro-acoustic and reliability tests on these two types of compressors, and their main characteristics are described; certain design defects are examined. C.C.
