Type of article: Article

Summary

THE AUTHOR PRESENTS AN INSTALLATION FOR SUBCOOLING EXHAUST AIR FROM SOLVENT REACTORS BY PASSING IT OVER SPECIALLY CONSTRUCTED BRINE/GAS HEAT EXCHANGERS. THIS MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO CONDENSE MOST EVAPORATED SOLVENTS AND THUS TO KEEP THEM FROM CONTRIBUTING TO HYDROCARBON EMISSIONS. THIS ALSO MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO RECYCLE THE SOLVENTS. SUBCOOLING IS DONE IN PLATE-FIN AND SHELL-AND-TUBE HEAT EXCHANGERS.
