Summary
The advantages of liquid pumps (magnetically operated gear pumps) compared to compressors and suction pumps are presented: speed of operation, absence of emission of heat, suppression of engine contamination by the dirty refrigerant. Applications of liquid pumps are reviewed: recovery, recycling, load, purge, washing, transfer of refrigerant, transfer of liquid oil. Advantages of liquid pumps are underlined: flow rates are faster, lightness and compactness of the equipment, compatibility with standard refrigrants and substitute refrigerants. J.L.
