Summary
Present trends in refrigerants for air conditioning cooling are described. Refrigerants are assessed on a working basis and in the cooling cycle context. The extensive use of waste heat and the selection of optimal refrigerants and cooling cycles from this point of view are discussed. The status of work on the new Czech Act for the protection of the ozone layer against depletion is introduced.
