Summary
According to a survey by the JARW (Japanese Association of Refrigerated Warehouses), the total refrigerating capacity of the 3,819 refrigerated warehouses in Japan was 32,333,000 cubic meters (1,102,000 tons) as of January 1, 1998. Although the number of refrigerated warehouses decreased by 30, the total capacity showed a 3.5% increase (1,102,000 cubic meters = 441,000 tons).
