A scenario for the contribution of refrigeration technologies to the well-being of New-Zealand society in 2010 and taking account of contingencies due to environmental risks, such as ozone depletion and climate change, is proposed. The drivers behind the scenario, natural products industry, service industries, manufacturing industries and research and development sector are identified and described. The competencies and synergies needed and the investments required to achieve the scenario are exposed.
