Summary
THERMODYNAMIC SYSTEMS ALLOWING THE USE AND STORAGE OF THE HEAT ENERGY GENERATEDBY REFRIGERATING SYSTEMS ARE THE CONDITIONS AND CONSTRAINTS IMPOSED BY THERMODYNAMICS AND SAFETY DURING OPERATION ARE DEFINED. AFTER REVIEWING DEFINITIONS AND OPERATING PRINCIPLES OF (COMPRESSION) REFRIGERATING MACHINES, OF HEAT PUMPS AND OF SYSTEMS FOR THE COMBINED PRODUCTION OF HEAT AND COLD, THE CASES OF SIMULTANEOUS PRODUCTION OF USEFUL HEAT AND REFRIGERATION ARE ANALYZED, ACCORDING TO THE BALANCE OR IMBALANCE OF THE CORRESPONDING REQUIREMENTS, INCLUDING THE GENERAL CASE OF A SYSTEM WITH 4 RESERVOIRS. THEN, THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SYSTEM AS A FUNCTION OF THE TEMPERATURE LEVEL REQUIRED FOR THE HEAT REQUIREMENTS ARE DISCUSSED, WHICH CAN LEAD TO THE OPERATION OF < CASCADE > SYSTEMS WHOSE DIFFERENT POSSIBLE PATTERNS ARE DESCRIBED. THE OTHER POSSIBILITIES FOR RECOVERING HEAT FROM THE REFRIGERATION CYCLE (DESUPERHEATING AND SUBCOOLING) ARE E LIMITS IMPOSED BY THE OPERATING PRESSURE OF STANDARD REFRIGERATING MATERIALS ARE INDICATED.
