Summary

VARIOUS POTENTIAL USES OF REFRIGERATION DURING LNG REGASIFICATION CAN BE ENVISAGED. THEY ARE MAINLY COMPRESSION OF LNG IN THE LIQUID PHASE, EVAPORATION RECONDENSATION, ADJUST-MENT OF THERMAL CAPACITY BY NITROGEN INJECTION OR EXTRACTION OF HEAVY HYDROCARBONS, LIQUEFACTION-VAPORISATION OF LNG FOR PEAK-SHAVING, SEPARATION AND LIQUEFACTION OF AIR CONSTITUENTS, GAS LIQUEFACTION (CO2 ) AND ELECTRIC POWER GENERATION. THE ECONOMICS OF THESE APPLICATIONS REMAIN LINKED TO TECHNICAL ASPECTS, THE CONSTRAINTS OF PROCESSES USED AND LOCAL ECONOMIC CONDITIONS. (Bibliogr. int. IFP-AFME-CNRS, FR., 87-230-10241.
