Summary

RELAXATION OF MAGNETO-ELASTIC WAVES IN EASY-PLANE ANTIFERROMAGNET FEBO3 IS INVESTIGATED IN THE 5 TO 20 MHERTZ FREQUENCY RANGE AND BETWEEN 1.5 AND 4.2 K. A PEAK IN THE TEMPERATURE DEPENDENCE OF THE RELAXATION TIME IS OBSERVED WHICH EVIDENTLY IS DUE TO THE PRESENCE OF IMPURITY FERROUS IONS IN THE CRYSTAL. MEASUREMENTS ARE CARRIED OUT AT 4.2 K OF THE ACTIVATION ENERGY OF THE IMPURITY LEVEL.
