Removable superconducting magnet for ultra-high vacuum (UHV) applications.
Author(s) : ROSSEL C., SCHULZ R. R., ROMANO G.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The authors have designed and tested a cryogenic vessel for a superconducting coil that can be moved within an UHV chamber. The reason for using a removable magnet is to allow lateral access to a given sample and its support. The particular configuration and specifications of the present system when used with a low temperature scanning tunnelling microscope are described.
