Research on heat transfer in the equipment for heat pumps.

Summary

At DEAF (Dipartimento di Energetica ed Applicazioni di Fisica), Palermo University, Italy, a Research Group, works since many years on subjects pertaining the development of heat pumps. The design of system components requires a suitable correlation of heat transfer data for the estimate of heat transfer coefficient in equipment such as evaporators, condensers, absorbers, and generators. The authors have developed a new data correlation methodology for boiling and evaporation, condensation, absorption, desorption. Data processing includes data available in the literature and data derived at DEAF. The methodology is based on a two-phase model for heat and mass transfer.
