Author(s) : SEYFERT P.

Type of article: Article

Summary

THE AUTHOR REPORTS ON 2 STUDIES RELATED TO MAGNETIC REFRIGERATION. THE FEASIBILITY OF MAGNETICALLY ACTIVE REGENERATION WAS INVESTIGATED IN THE TEMPERATURE RANGE OF 4.2 TO 15 K. COMPUTER SIMULATION AND TESTS OF AN EXPERIMENTAL APPARATUS USING A TIME-VARYING MAGNETIC FIELD WITH 3 T PEAK VALUE WERE CARRIED OUT. THE POSSIBILITY WAS ALSO STUDIED OF BUILDING A MAGNETIC CARNOT REFRIGERATOR THAT COULD BE USED IN LARGE-SCALE SUPERFLUID HELIUM COOLING SYSTEMS.
