Research on the improving of submarine inhabiting by using ice-storage air conditioning under submerged conditions.
Author(s) : WU G., ZHONG M. J., ZEN Q. H., et al.
Summary
Energy consumption of air conditioning is about 1/3 of total energy consumption when a routine submarine navigates below the surface, so improving the conformation of submarine indoor environment with minimized energy consumption is a key problem. Focusing on massive heat load and high temperature in some of the submarine cabins, in order to improve submarine inhabiting and energy saving, this paper puts forward applying ice-storage air conditioning to replace the existing air conditioning of the submarine. When the submarine sails on the surface, ice-storage equipment stores ice. When it sails underwater, ice-storage air conditioning operates. In this way, the energy consumption is less than routine submarine air conditioning. One type of ice-storage air conditioning used in submarines has been introduced. The project design, equipment selection and analysis of air treatment process were done. By calculating and analysing, it is shown that ice-storage air-conditioning application is able to improve the inhabiting and working environment on a submarine, and the energy consumption is decreased under submerged conditions.
