THE CONSIDERABLE INCREASE IN LNG PRODUCTION FORECAST OVER THE NEXT FEW YEARS WILL NOT ONLY UTILISE PRESENT OVERCAPACITY, BUT ALSO REQUIRE SEVERAL NEW SHIPS WHICH ARE BUILDING OR PROJECT FUTURE DEMAND WILL NEED LARGER, MORE ECONOMIC CARRIERS USING FEWER, LARGER TANKS IN WIDER, SHORTER HULLS, WITH LOWER SPEEDS AND A DECREASE IN PROPULSION POWER. BETTER INSULATION AND REDUCED BOIL-OFF WILL BE NECESSARY. D.W.H.
