A NEW DESIGN OF INDEPENDENT PRISMATIC TANK FOR LNG MARINE CARRIAGE PRODUCES A DAILY BOIL-OFF RATE AS LOW AS 0.06% OF CARGO. THE TANK IS OF RIBBED ALUMINIUM, DIVIDED BY CENTRELINE AND TRANSVERSE BULKHEADS. GAS IS TRANSPORTED AT -163 DEG C AT A VAPOUR PRESSURE OF 0.25 BAR. A SPECIAL STUD WELDING GUN PROVIDES THE FIXINGS FOR THE INSULATION AND SUPPORTS ALLOW COMPLETE TANK THERMAL MOVEMENT. D.W.H.
