Type of article: Article

Summary

SIMPLE DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS ARE OBTAINED FOR THE BALANCE OF WATER VAPOUR FLOW THROUGH A VENTILATED OR NON-VENTILATED ROOM. THE DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS ARE SOLVED FOR A NUMBER OF CASES, SHOWING THE TRANSIENT, DYNAMIC BEHAVIOUR OF THE MOIST-URE CONTENT OF THE INSIDE AIR IN RESPONSE TO VARIOUS TIME-RELATED PATTERNS OF EXCITATION. EXAMPLES SHOW THE APPLICATION OF THE SOLUTIONS TO PRACTICAL CASES. THE SAME SOLUTIONS CAN ALSO APPLY TO TRANSIENTS IN THE CONCENTRATION OF OTHER AIRBORNE GASES SUCH AS CO2 OR TRACER GASES.
