Summary

The introductory part of this paper contains the biography of Rudolf Clausius (1822-1888) by Max V. Laue described with supplements taken from other sources; it comprises salient facts and relates essential achievements in the field of classic thermodynamics. First law of thermodynamics analytical formulae are developed by Werbal and analytical formulae first law of thermodynamics are developed in supplementary versions by scientists such as H. Poincaré, M. Planck, C. Carathéodory and M. Born. Deductive procedure used by Clausius in prove of existence of entropy was used also by Poincaré in formal proof of the existence of internal energy, making it easier to classify concepts and laws in theoretical formation the foundation of thermodynamics.
