SCROLL-TYPE COMPRESSOR: DESIGN AND PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY.

Author(s) : CHUMAK I.

Summary

THE PAPER DISCUSSES THE DESIGN TECHNOLOGY OF A SCROLL-TYPE COMPRESSOR (SC), EQUIPPED WITH TWO SPIRAL MEMBERS, ONE OF THEM ORBITALLY MOVING. THE KINEMATIC OF THIS SC CREATES SEALED POCKETS BETWEEN SPIRAL MEMBERS, WHICH MOVE FROM THE PERIPHERY TO THE CENTER, CHANGING VOLUME ON THE WAY. THE DESCRIBED DESIGN OF SC DISTINGUISHES ITSELF WITH CONSIDERABLE ADVANTAGES, WHICH HOWEVER ARE DIFFICULT TO REALIZE IN PRACTICE, DUE TO VERY COMPLICATED KINEMATICS. A NUMBER OF CHANGES IN DESIGN ARE PROPOSED TO IMPROVE THE KINEMATICS AND TO MAKE THE APPLICATION OF THE NEW TECHNOLOGY EASIER FOR PRODUCTION OF THE MOST COMPLICATED SCROLL-MEMBERS. FLEXIBLE MEMBERS ARE INCORPORATED, REDUCING NOISE AND VIBRATION WHILE INCREASING RPM RANGE.
