Summary

THE SECOND LAW OF THERMODYNAMICS ANALYSIS FOR A COGENERATION POWER-ABSORPTION COOLING PLANT IS CARRIED OUT. A TYPICAL REFERENCE STEAM POWER PLANT IS USED IN THE ANALYSIS TO SHOW THE EFFICIENT USE OF FUEL IN PRODUCING BOTH POWER AND PROCESS HEAT TO OPERATE ABSORPTION COOLING UNITS FOR AIR-CONDITIONING PURPOSES. THE ANALYSIS SHOWS THAT IN THE COGENERATION PLANT PROPOSED, A BETTER UTILIZATION OF FUEL IS ACHIEVED AS COMPARED TO A SINGLE PURPOSE POWER PLANT OR BOILER DRIVEN ABSORPTION UNIT.
