Second-law analysis of solar-assisted heat pumps.
Author(s) : CHATURVEDI S. K., MOHIELDIN T. O., CHEN D. T.
Type of article: Article
Summary
Several relations between first-and second-law efficiency parameters (such as the COP, primary energy ratio, exergetic and collector efficiencies) are derived. These relations are used to determine the system performance under realistic operating conditions. The sources of irreversibilities in the system are identified and their effects on system performance are discussed.
