Summary

At the dawn of the new millennium, the air-conditioning market was the scene of major drastic shifts. In Germany, the new PostTower and the new BankingCenter in Frankfurt are perfect illustrations of this: approximately 10 000 small self-contained ventilation and air-conditioning units were used for these two projects alone. Supporters of this new technology then praised the prospects they opened up, while opponents stressed the weaknesses and limits of this still recent technology. CCI.Print's editorial team and Promotor Verlag led and assisted discussions around these issues. All the key points raised in these discussions from 2001 to early 2005 are compiled in this volume.
