Type of monograph: Report

Summary

This report is part of the work of the IEA Energy Conservation in Buildings and Community Systems (ECBCS) Programme. The focus of the study is on ducts and also ventilation principles, components for air treatment and similar topics, which are necessary for understanding the role of ductwork, are briefly described. The goal is to implement energy efficient and well functioning systems. The contents include: air transport through ductwork; thermal and wind forces; ducts and ductwork components; system layout and sizing methods; duct insulation; fire safety; acoustics; air filters, duct hygiene and cleaning; duct tightness; duct construction materials. This report is included in the AIVC CD-ROM (see this Bulletin, reference 2004 - 1501).
