Type of article: Article

Summary

SIMULTANEOUS HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER DURING CONDENSATION IN CROSS-COUNTERFLOW GAS-TO-GAS HEAT EXCHANGERS H THE COUPLED HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER EQUATIONS ARE DERIVED FOR BOUNDARY-LAYER CONTROLLED HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER AND INCLUDE LONGITUDINAL HEAT CONDUCTION IN THE EXCHANGER WALL. A NUMERICAL METHOD OF THE FINITE-DIFFERENCE TYPE IS APPLIED TO THE STEADY-STATE PERFORMANCE. TEMPERATURE AND ABSOLUTE HUMIDITY DISTRIBUTIONS ARE CALCULATED FOR EXCHANGER PARAMETERS THAT ARE TYPICAL IN AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS.
