SENSITIVITY IMPROVEMENT IN LOW TEMPERATURE OPERATION OF A BASEBAND PHOTORECEIVER CONTAINING A TEG FET.

Summary

BY COOLING TO 45 K A BASEBAND PHOTORECEIVER, THE FRONT-END AMPLIFIER OF WHICH CONTAINS A TEG FET, THE AUTHORS COULD IMPROVE THE SIGNAL-TO-NOISE RATIO AT THE OUTPUT OF THE SYSTEM BY ABOUT 4 DECIBELS (OPTICAL). CONSIDERING PUBLISHED RESULTS ON TEG FETS, THE AUTHORS DISCUSS FURTHER POSSIBLE IMPROVEMENT OF THE PHOTORECEIVER PERFORMANCE.
