Summary

IT IS SHOWN THAT AN ARRAY OF SUPERCONDUCTING WIRES CONNECTED BY JOSEPHSON JUNCTIONS AND LOCATED IN A MAGNETIC FIELD GO OVER TO A LOW-TEMPERATURE STATE OF THE SPIN GLASS TYPE. THE DEPENDENCE OF THE PHASE TRANSITION TEMPERATURE T ON THE MAGNETIC FIELD STRENGTH H IS FOUND. IN THE VICINITYOF T, SUPERCONDUCTING FLUCTUATIONS LEAD TO A LOGARITHMIC GROWTH OF THE EFFECTIVE CONDUCTIVITY OF THE SYSTEM WITH DECREASING FREQUENCY AND REDUCED TEMPERATURE. THE LOW-TEMPERATURE STATE OF THE SYSTEM DEPENDS ON THE PATH IN THE (T, H) PLANE BY WHICH IT IS REACHED. THE EQUATION OF STATE, WHICH DEPENDS ON THE PREHISTORY, IS DERIVED AND A DIAMAGNETIC RESPONSE TO VARIATION OF THE MAGNETIC FIELD IS PREDICTED.
