Summary

THE NUMEROUS PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN IN ORDER TO USE GROUND WATER FOR A HEAT PUMP ARE DETAILED. TECHNICALLY, THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE AQUIFER, OF THE GROUND AND OF WATER CONTAINED SHOULD BE KNOWN, THE UTILISABLE FLOW RATE SHOULD BE EVALUATED (PUMPING REJECTION OR PUMPING-REINJECTION), A COMPLETE AND ACCURATE HYDROGEOLOGICAL STUDY OF THE WATER-CATCH-MENT SHOULD BE MADE, THE MOST SUITABLE BORING TECHNIQUE SHOULD BE DETERMINED, THE THERMAL BEHAVIOUR OF SUBSOIL IN CASE OF REINJECTION SHOULD BE STUDIED, ETC. ON THE ADMINISTRATIVE LEVEL, IT IS NECESSARY TO MEET THE REGULATIONS ABOUT THE USE OF GROUND WATER. ALL THESE PRECAUTIONS REQUIRE A CLOSE COOPERATION BETWEEN THE OWNER AND SPECIALISTS OFHYDROGEOLOGY, SO THAT THE ACHIEVEMENT IS RELIABLE, WITH HIGH PERFORMANCE. J.R.
