Summary

THE EQUATIONS GOVERNING THE TRANSPORT OF HEAT AND MASS THAT OCCURS IN SUCH SYSTEMS ARE DERIVED, AND THE SYSTEM PERFORMANCE IS DETERMINED USING BOTH INFINITE AND FINITE TRANSPORT COEFFICIENTS. THE EFFECTS OF VARYING THE EVAPORATOR AND CONDENSER TEMPERATURES AND THE AMOUNT OF INERT MATERIAL IN THE SYSTEM ON OVERALL SYSTEM PERFORMANCE ARE ALSO PRESENTED.
