Simulation of an absorption cooling system.

Author(s) : EGRICAN N., YIGIT A.

Type of article: Article

Summary

Describes a finite difference solution for combined heat and mass transfer on vapour absorption into a laminar liquid film. Heat and mass-transfer coefficients are determined by calculating temperature and concentration variations at the film. States a modular computer program has been developed for absorption systems to simulate various cycle configurations. Notes an investigation of the influence of component temperatures and heat exchanger effectiveness on cooling COPs and component heat transfer rates to define optimum operating conditions.
