SIMULATION OF INDUSTRIAL HEAT PUMP FISH DRIERS.

Summary

FROM TESTS ON A FISH DRYING PLANT USING A HEAT PUMP, A MATHEMATICAL MODEL WAS DEVELOPED IN ORDER TO PREDICT THE RAPIDITY OF FISH DRYING. FROM THIS DRYING MODEL A SIMULATION PROGRAM WAS DEVELOPED FOR AN INDUSTRIAL DRYING TUNNEL WITH A HEAT PUMP. THE PRODUCTION OF SUCH A TUNNEL WILL BE DOUBLED BY USING FILLETS INSTEAD OF WHOLE FISH. AN INCREASE IN CAPACITY WILL INCREASE ITS OUTPUT, BUT THE RELATIVE INCREASE IN OUTPUT WILL DEPEND TO A LARGE EXTENT UPON THE DRYER LENGTH. THIS MODEL WAS USED FOR SIMULATING AN EXISTING INDUSTRIAL HEAT PUMP DRYER FOR LING FILLETS AND A CHECK SHOWED THAT THE RESULTS ARE IN GOOD AGREEMENT WITH CALCULATED DATA.
