Author(s) : BHALAVI J., GUPTA B. R., JHINGE P. K.
Summary
Climate changes and growing energy demands are the reasons to look for proper utilization of waste thermal energy and renewable energy resources. The dependency on fossil fuels has to be minimised and other substitutes need to be explored. In this aspect, Solar Adsorption Refrigeration technology has attracted increased attention to meet the needs for cooling requirements. Adsorption refrigeration process uses low grade heat source such as solar energy, it is an environment friendly, noiseless operation and developing as sustainable alternatives to electricity-driven vapor compression refrigeration systems. The main objective of this paper is to present a comprehensive literature review of past development and recent progress in the field of solar adsorption refrigeration technologies.
